1 – 5 December 2025
The CSIR ICC proudly hosted the World Conference of Science Journalists 2025 (WCSJ2025), marking the first time the prestigious global conference has been hosted on the African continent.
Held in Pretoria from 1 – 5 December 2025, the conference brought together science journalists, researchers, policymakers, communicators and industry leaders from around the world under the theme, Science Journalism and Social Justice: Journalism that Builds Understanding and Resilience.
The Culinary team developed a specialised menu offering tailored to the diverse needs of both local and international guests, while also giving delegates an authentic taste of South African flavours and cuisine.
WCSJ2025 also showcased the CSIR ICC’s capability to host large-scale international conferences, exhibitions and networking events, creating opportunities for delegates and partners to engage, collaborate and exchange ideas within the global science communication community.
The successful hosting of the conference further reinforced the CSIR ICC’s reputation as a leading international conference destination and highlighted South Africa’s growing role in global science diplomacy, research and innovation conversations.
The CSIR ICC remains committed to delivering world-class conference and exhibition experiences that support knowledge-sharing, collaboration and innovation across industries.
