The CSIR International Convention Centre (CSIR ICC) continues its commitment to making a difference in the lives of children within its community through a series of outreach events.

The ICC chose Leamogetswe Safety Home, an orphanage based in Saulsville, Atteridgeville as a beneficiary of its donation drive. Leamogetse Safety Home is home to over 100 children. The Safety Home goes beyond offering the children a place of safety with the inclusion of daily school homework classes and violin lessons which have prepared the children to participate in the annual UNISA SA Music Scholarship Competitions.

”We cannot thank the CSIR ICC enough. We constantly need to replenish crockery and cutlery due to breakage, so this donation will help us immensely,’’ said Nozizwe Ntsele, Leamogetswe Safety Home Social Auxiliary Worker.

The CSIR ICC team donated the following items: notepads, pens, as well as banqueting material such as tablecloths, cutlery, plates, crockery, linen and serving trays.

The CSIR ICC has placed a branded donation box in its foyer and encourages visitors to donate their conference materials/surpluses. The Centre also extends its gratitude to those sponsors, delegates and clients who continue to contribute to the initiative.
